Multilingual Education is growing across the United States, and appropriate multilingual educational tools and efficient materials are few. Especially, materials tailored to ensure early childhood literacy skills.

Teaching Multilingual, LLC serves our ELL and ESL students by providing research-based materials that help them acquire the academic literacy and essential skills they need to be successful in two or more languages, teacher coaching, and literacy nights for parents.

Our primary goal is to assist schools, teachers, and parents to be successful and efficient at teaching early pre-reading and reading skills. Time to practice and intentional teaching is of the essence to ensure students master language development, listening, speaking, reading, and writing in their primary and secondary language.

The Research Behind it

Research confirms that all these skills are essential and necessary for students’ success in reading readiness.

Therefore, Pre-K and kindergarten students must be able to master these skills in order to understand how words are made from the whole to the parts and from the parts to the whole.

Once these skills are mastered, the students will start decoding words at a faster rate and with accuracy; both in Spanish and English.

In public education or at home, sound research in the science of Reading indicates that there must be an increase in children’s reading comprehension skills by expanding student’s language, vocabulary, sight words, decoding skills, phonology, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print and writing as the highway for students to excel in navigating the flow of global and digital education. It takes a village to accomplish this great task. Schools need to support, equip, and train their teachers with effective and consistent training. Parents need to support the teachers’ and schools’ efforts by working at home with their children, and effective hands-on materials are needed to get the job done.

Teaching Multilingual, LLC, designs research-based materials primarily for Pre-K and Kindergarten to ensure students master the skills needed to become successful readers and to nurture their love for language development in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We also believe that one-on-one literacy coaching based on literacy objectives and modeling, co-teaching, and observing are key to equipping teachers to become successful reading and writing teachers. The sense of urgency is real for students to be able to read at a faster rate today. Knowledge is power and we can only acquire it through the mastery of reading.

More than ever, professionals in education have access to the latest findings on how to more efficiently teach children how to read, how to help struggling readers and train teachers and parents with practical strategies that are needed for students. We start at the beginning. We believe a successful early childhood education in reading and writing solidifies the rest of a student’s education. Our products have shown to be successful in classrooms where teachers are committed and intentional and where explicit teaching takes place. As we grow our business, we are committed to formally collecting data to see areas for possible improvement. Part of our research and best practices come from sources such as Reading Research Quarterly, National Reading Panel, International Reading Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and studies from highly accredited experts such as Lucy Calkins, Douglas Fisher, Wiley Blevins among others, and Universities across the nation and abroad.
